Whenever I asked foreigners if they knew something about Vietnam – my beloved home country, the answers they gave me usually concerned the wars, especially the Vietnam War. That moment, I was always overwhelmed by both pride and commiseration over the hardship the Vietnamese had endured through years. Our journey striving for today independence and peace has never been easy. It was full of tears, blood and profound losses of material, physical and spiritual aspect, which will definitely remain as a crucial part of the nation’s history.
