In the picturesque landscape of Pogradec, Albania, with a magnificent view to lake Ohrid, this 8-day training course brought together participants from different backgrounds, all aiming at developing skills so as to address in their own settings social issues connected with youth, education, welfare and inclusion.
The TC provided insight to action research methodology and relevant tools, making a connection with the wider frame of the Erasmus Plus program. The trainers used non-formal education techniques, such as interactive and experiential workshops, based on the principles of Human Rights Education. We, as participants, had the opportunity to widen our competences on action research planning, project design, fund raising and campaigning.
At a more human level, we had to chance to meet enthusiastic young people, network, exchange good practices and develop an intercultural understanding of crucial social issues, that are relevant to all of us nowadays, such as the refugee crisis, youth policy, access to human rights and discrimination.
Our next step? To put the skills gained into practice, by conducting research and developing actions at a local level, aiming at making a change in our communities. Looking forward the next residential seminar in fall!
